Adjustable Backrest Touring Electra 2009 2020 Review

Item as described. Installed on a 2011 Harley Davidson Ultra Gluide Classic. I had to flip the cable switch on the mounting plate. but no big deal. works as it should

I really liked the price (about $95) but even the best used parts have problems. I was able to install from a YouTube video. One screw was slightly damaged and unusable, but I was able to get a replacement from my parts basket. After installation it worked great!

The adjustment pin bracket has already snapped off from crappy nails. Directions suck. The rear seat post is sloppy in the assembly. The only reason I'm not returning it is so I can tighten everything myself and weld the pin back to the bracket.

ordered to prepare for a long trip next week. spent 2.5 for the installation and went to check the work and the piston stuck and would not let go. i wasn't happy I guess I should have spent $200 more to get the one Harley had. I agree the instructions should have been better and the lever was back.

Ordered back Monday, received Wednesday. The picture that adjusts the height of the seat needed to be replaced so I used a zip tie and submitted a return request for the part. Holy $$$! Received the complete set the next day! Very happy with the customer service and the back is amazing!

Poorly made from cheap components. The adjustment arm mounting bolt came loose in my frame with little to no torque. He wasn't even close to hitting the ground, and he wasn't even pinned to the clamp. Removing a broken bolt at the shop will cost more than installing a Harley seat at the dealer.

Instructions were terrible. The shock doesn't hold its place. The seatback moves forward without pressing the switch. Whatever you do, it will not stand. It's pressing on the driver's seat and I'm afraid it will eventually rip my leather seat. I would contact the seller but there is no way. The instructions look like someone photographed the Harley manual and it shows a different model than the one I bought. I am extremely disappointed.

As you can see from other reviews, the documentation is very poor. Leaves a lot of guesswork to install it. The biggest issue I had to change was the base of the mount. You should bend it to better fit the shape of the wing. If you overtighten the wing bolts, I suspect that this will throw off the screw alignment and possibly bend the wing. I clamped it in a vise and bent it to match the angle of the wing. After the installation it worked great. I included it in the 2020 Street Glide Special.
