Yes, it isn't. Tailor's Awl

Bits too big for the handle. After inserting and tightening the screw lock as much as possible, the bits can be easily pulled out by hand and inserted into the skin after punching.

Pros
  • Wide Hole Punch
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Durability and good quality

Works well. There are more expensive ones. I'm sure this one will serve its purpose. If you are a professional tanner then you have your own preferences and a willingness to spend a little more.

Pros
  • Shape design saves energy
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging

Not for gather stitches or normal leather stitches

These blades or inserts are too big for normal leather work. What they are actually intended for is unclear. The ends of the inserts are knurled and too big for a collet, requiring you to force pliers to insert or remove them, which will scratch the shanks.

Pros
  • 4 needles in one to choose from
Cons
  • New competitors are here

I had to sharpen straight out of the box

Straight out of the box I had to sharpen 2 blades of the stapler. One was just a hack. It looked terrible. However, after some time of smoothing and re-sharpening, I have to say that they fit the handle perfectly and work very well. The blades appear to be high quality tool steel.

Pros
  • Wooden handle for a comfortable grip
Cons
  • No power
