Very strong magnet. So bad it came out of the CD player in my car when I tried to pick up my phone. New review update. After I wrote this review, the company contacted me. They offered to send a new block for free. I was impressed with the customer service and wanted to say hello and thank you. So far, this second device has held up better in the CD player than the first. Even if this device doesn't work, I will still order other products from them just for customer service.

I travel a lot and need to use a phone holder with pens all the time. My phone slipped or the sticky suction cup came loose. I don't like the ones you hook up to the air conditioner as that can be a problem if it's constantly blowing hot or cold air. This is held in place by a strong magnet that you stick between the case and the phone. It is imperceptible and does not cause excess weight. I've been using it for about two years. Holds the phone well. I love that it's just a magnet and I can rotate the phone however I see fit (as opposed to a "button" style phone mount that only holds the phone in one direction). about a year. I like it! This is my second purchase as I gifted the first to a friend who liked it. Inserted into the CD slot, which is stronger than the air vent assembly. My 2006 Toyota Rav-4 has the CD slot just below the air vents so the phone still gets cool air. The magnet is pretty strong. I had another magnet attached to my phone and it was a bit difficult to get it out of this holder, often I would take the whole holder out when I reached for my phone. In general, the product is excellent. construction quality at the highest level; Solid parts and well assembled. My problem, and hence the 4 star rating, is that the "pillar" that detaches from the CD slot handle sticks out too far for my switch in the car, so I can't move the switch to park without that my phone needs to be removed from the mount.
