Works as advertised. Loud(?)

Works as advertised. I have found that the radio has a harder time picking up stations when connected to the network. I tried putting capacitors on the output and inductors on the lines. Not sure what the problem is, will update if I find out.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

It actually seems to work

I was hesitant to buy this for my ft3d but it charged it up, not super-duper slow like I thought it would. The tip comes off so you have to be careful not to lose it, but I think if you have other suitable tips you'll need a 12v charger for something small.

  • Nice
Cons
  • Damaged

mislabeled in CB and radio equipment

I bought it in an open box but it said it was undamaged, it was wrong and it was partially crushed and I had to bend it and that's what I was hoping for would work. Luckily that was the case as I needed it the day after delivery. The package wasn't crushed or damaged so I'm assuming it must have been in its box which is why it's gone. This tells me someone didn't test it before it crashed as presented in the listing.

Pros
  • nice packaging
Cons
  • fragile

Looked good but didn't work

I really wanted it to work. If you own a VX-6R, you know the wall wart is huge and doesn't pack well. I really wanted a good plug that would work with the USB plugs I carry everywhere when I travel. Unfortunately, the adapter they sent didn't fit either of the two VX-6Rs I have. The plug will not charge the radio, so send back if. Judging by the reviews, it works on many other models, but not mine.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Works great with solar panel

I have a Yeasu FT-3DR HT radio. I took a RAVPower 16W solar panel and used it on my radio with this battery charging cable. I also use it to charge my power bank. The radio battery takes a long time to charge when plugged into an outlet, so it's not faster, but it works when you're not plugged into a power source. I actually think it's better to charge the power bank (also from RAVPower) during the day and then charge the radio's battery without a power bank while you sleep. Very practical…

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Hard to say

Yaesu FT65R with alternative charging

The Yaesu FT65R does not have a charging port directly on the radio and I was looking for an alternative way to charge my radio for times when I don't have access to AC power. This product provides me with just such a method, although the original charging station is still needed. The supplied cable is simply connected to the original factory cable without the adapter included in the scope of delivery. I compared the polarity and voltage to the original and they were within spec (11.8V). With a

  • Good product for the price
