The console is hollow, no inner workings. We tried opening it to put the batteries in and it's completely sealed, just a piece of plastic!

Easy to use, just what you need. A small learning curve, but a solid remote control. Now I can also adjust the bass and treble of the subwoofer. Less than $10

One star deducted for lack of instructions. You will need a flat spatula to loosen the bottom and slide the back of the remote down.

There were no instructions on how to put the batteries in the kit, apparently you basically disassemble it. Although I didn't need to program anything after putting the batteries in, it just worked with my soundbar.

Having bought this because I needed a replacement I knew how difficult it was going to be to open. I was NOT prepared for how awfully HARD it was to open! My husband and I struggled with the old one until I figured out what I thought the "trick" was, but it didn't work with the new one. I really really REALLY didn't need it, I would throw it back in the box and bring it back for the night! That's why I only give 3 stars; There must be a better design.

Great remote control! I bought a Samsung HW-R450/SW soundbar and subwoofer from Best Buy in an open box with no remote control. Got this as a replacement and it worked as soon as I put the batteries in (requires 2 AA). I didn't have to do anything to link it. Highly recommend if you need a replacement remote.
