A simple way for two-way voice communication at the entrance. I had to purchase a "doorbell wire" separately to route it to where I wanted it in my wall, but other than that all I needed was some tools I already had on hand. EDIT 02/26/2015: I discovered something important. I got lucky with the first one installed. I used two 18/2 thermostat wires because the hardware store didn't have small 18/5 spools. The distance was about 25 feet (50 feet of wire for both locations) and everything worked great. I bought a second intercom for my daughter's house and got an 18/5 coil so I only had to pull one wire. BIG MISTAKE! Nothing but static. I've tried all sorts of things.
