Description of 🏽 Aircast Airlift PTTD Ankle Support Brace Right Foot Medium - Reliable Orthopedic Brace for Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction

Designed for the treatment of Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD), or for early signs and symptoms of the adult acquired flat foot. Accommodates variances in arch shapes and heights to lift the foot arch to a more natural foot position. Simply adjust the 2 Velcro straps to secure the brace which eliminates time consuming lacing. Inflation of the air cell (located under the foot) can be adjusted while worn with the included hand bulb air pump. Each air cell has been tested with 2,000 lbs. of pressure to withstand the force from running, jumping and landing, and other high-impact activities.

Poor quality but good relief

The durability of these braces is terrible. I rarely had a groin longer than 3-4 weeks. The balloon that inflates under the arch has a very poor valve design and 4 of the last 6 have only lasted a few weeks. Combined with the rate at which the fabric wears out, that's a terrible amount. Other than that, they're the best non-surgical solution I've found so far, and my podiatrist's office charges $100 each for them.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost never

Poor quality - won't hold its breath for days/weeks. Don't waste money.

I bought this item through Revain, it came quickly and I was delighted. First. This worked great, but only for a few days. Stopped holding air almost immediately. Got a replacement through Revain, it came quickly too. It went like this for a few weeks. I tried and tried to make it work and stay pumped and ended up timing out. Now I'm looking for something more reliable.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Doesn't hold up well in leg and foot rests

I purchased this product after being recommended by my physical therapist. I only wore it once and it never came open again. This is not a Revain returns product. Thank god for my physical therapist. She contacted the company directly and I was given a replacement. My new brace lasted 2 weeks and didn't inflate again. It's a good concept and if the product had lasted it would definitely have gotten 5 stars. It was a waste of money. I went in search of a replacement.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • I will add later

I have PTTD and I paid $400 for the orthotics and I had an excellent foot orthotic - and Ankle Specialists, $800. (Thank goodness for the insurance) But I studied this particular brace for about 2 months, took a chance and bought it. Let me just say I haven't played racquetball in over 8 months and since I've had it I've been playing 2 times a week again and have NO pain. I haven't felt this good since I don't know when. I really don't have any pain during the game and especially afterwards. I…

Nice brace but bulky and difficult to wear

I bought this brace because I'm a 340 lb woman with flat feet that are starting to collapse in the arches. The bandage appears to be of high quality, but I immediately see several problems with it: First, the bandage is really quite bulky, ie it cannot be worn with shoes. Second, as a plus-size person, it doesn't really fit my ankle, so I don't know how sturdy it actually is because of that. Third, the inflatable air pocket that lifts the arch of the foot is quite comfortable overall, but can…

Works well for chronic PTSD

This is the third product I have purchased in the last year. They have worked well but tend to wear out and can slowly leak after a few months of daily wear. I also have an $800 Arizona Medical Grade Ankle Brace, but I prefer to wear the Aircast because it's more comfortable. The Arizona corset offers the best support as it has a hard shell and a custom fit. Aircast is difficult to keep clean as everything sticks to the velcro and cannot be machine washed due to the air chamber. Unlike the…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Does not fit in shoes, not for active use, non-returnable!

The description implies that the corset can run, jump and do strength exercises. Once the orthosis was on my foot, I couldn't put my shoes on. The bandage is suitable if you want to wear it while sitting or walking around the house. I tried fitting the orthosis into a bulky athletic shoe, but it didn't fit. Warning! This item is non-refundable for any reason, it was not declared at the time of purchase, you will not know until you attempt to return it. I noticed other reviews mentioning this as

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Slightly torn
