Thanks to the folks who answered my question on this. They are strong enough to hold my rip fence to the side of the table saw while I use the miter fence to cut other wood. very happy with them!

This welder magnet gets the job done. It doesn't have enough strength to hold things in place while welding, but it's a nice addition to a toolbox. If you need a very strong magnet then this isn't it.
