wanted for my baseball cap while driving my convertible. The short one doesn't have much grip. This is after I had to put a clip back together. It was broken into pieces and difficult for some to repair. I tried attaching one end to the hat and the other end to the shirt collar. I doubt it will hold up with the wind blowing my hat at 60mph. The longer one goes either side of the cap with a chin strap and clasp to tighten it. This works fine.

Attach to the back of your hat in case it gets blown away by the wind or while boating. The clips are plastic and feel a bit flimsy as others have said. So if you use a clip on the back of a hat they can actually break with heavy use. As a chin strap I find it pretty good.
