Good for my purposes but the faceted sides of this lamp are not flat. The lamp is not very stable when resting on the faceted sides. It would be very easy to get hit and fall over while firing.

This lamp is ok except it leaks where the chain attaches to the lid. There is a hole in the lid to which the chain is attached. This hole goes through. The supplied gasket is not thick enough to seal because the cap is not screwed on tight enough to put pressure on the gasket. Tilting the lantern will spill fuel everywhere. I cut the second gasket from the gasket material and folded it with the gasket that came with it and that fixed the leak problem.

This good spirit lamp produces a good sized flame for small decorations or other small hobbies or crafts. The 1/2 inch wick provides slightly more heat than most smaller diameter wicks. The beveled shape of the glass body allows you not to hold your work over the vertical lamp. loose fit and does not prevent alcohol evaporation when not in use. I easily made another cap for this purpose and it works fine. Nice little and inexpensive lamp.
