Clumsy and inefficient coffee maker

This coffee maker is nice to look at but that's the end of the good times, it's very chunky and its size doesn't fit in a cupboard. The coffee isn't as good as my Bialietti and I'm not a fan of the fact that it only makes 6 cups of espresso despite its large footprint. As for moka pots, this is not my favorite.

Classic design and a nice cup of coffee

We bought this coffee pot (correctly called Moka) 9 years ago in Sicily. Since then we've been using it regularly to make what we think is great coffee (although I'm no expert). The 3 cup size is perfect for the large 12 oz. Cappuccino or two 8-ounce cappuccinos (yes, I know the math doesn't add up!). I once made the mistake of putting part of the pan in the dishwasher which tarnished the aluminum. Since then we have followed the instructions and only rinsed the pot with warm water which left…

Great design and construction

Like the original Bialetti Moka Express, these jugs are modified percolators that apply gentle pressure to the sealed lower chamber to prevent the coffee from boiling before it reaches the upper serving chamber reached . The drink, which is a cross between espresso and regular coffee, is called mocha java or "moka" and is served almost everywhere in Italy.
