Description of Alginate Absorbent Antibacterial Dressings MedvanceTM Outdoor Recreation

WHY SILVER CALCIUM ALGINATE? Silver Calcium is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that helps prevent infection of wounds while providing optimum environment to facilitate healing. The alginate produces a hydrophilic gel when it comes into contact with wound exudate which provides a moist healing environment. COMFORTABLE USE: Conforms to body contours and provides maximum patient comfort. Does not stick to the wound to prevent secondary damage and can be cut to size for those difficult areas. SEMI-PERMEABLE: Semi–permeable PU film acts a liquid barrier while allows the passage of oxygen and water vapor. The multilayer structure works together to create a high absorbent yet breathable surface keeping the wound moist and sterile. STERILE AND INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED: Each dressing is manufactured in a sterile facility and are individually wrapped to prevent contamination of wounds. Can be used in hospitals, senior care homes, hospice, and other medical facilities. MULTI-USE: Effective for applications such as post-operative wounds, bed sores, cysts, pressure ulcers, burns, and other minor traumas. Approved for Level II of the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS). Use code A6199 for billing/claims.

Works very well at a good price

My husband had major stomach surgery, we use this to stimulate skin growth to close the area where he had to use wound vacuum. The price is very cheap compared to other similar products.

Economical and works

other products with the same characteristics are much more expensive. This product works well for my husband's diabetic ulcer. Doctors charge 100 times more for the same product. I will order more if needed.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Basically good, but...

It was great for healing

You have a surgical wound that just won't heal and still has drainage. I was using Medihoney and that seemed to make things worse. So I used some of that again. So far, in two days, it has almost cleared up and healed.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Excellent goods! on compresses

This product saves lives! Mom had hip surgery and her incision became tight. Serous fluid and some blood flowed out. I kept changing the bandage and pulling the dried blood from the surface, which didn't help proper healing. This product helps me keep my cut intact while I can change up my top dressing. It healed fairly quickly, there was no blood left in the bandage. Good product!

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Some problems

it will help heal your wounds

I'm not a doctor so I'm not sure how they work but I'm sure they work. Appears to cause scabs and granulation of deep cuts more quickly. This material is commonly used for bedsores and other cavernous wounds, but also works well for deep and stitched wounds. The silver in them makes them beautiful and antiseptic, and healing time is apparently drastically reduced. Will last. However, it can take effect for a few days and can also be easily removed with a little saline solution or water. great…

Easy to apply and remove

Dressing strips are easy to apply and can cover the incision directly without the need to cut or adjust the sterile drape, which can be unnecessarily large. The 12 inch length can cover most cuts with one strip. The antibacterial properties of the dressing can speed healing and reduce concerns about possible infection. Removal is less difficult even if dry adhesion occurs. In such cases, you can simply moisten the strips with a sterile liquid (salt water) due to their absorbency, so that they…

Dries well on compresses

I forgot how good silver is for wounds. My mother had to heal a wound about 10 years ago. That's when I met Silver. A few years ago I developed cellulite on my leg. Without knowing what it was, it looked like eczema. I only dealt with systems. Knowing that I now have wounds big enough to try to control them, thoughts of my mother's problem came to mind and I figured why not. It was small enough to try. It works. I'd like to buy several at once, but they get expensive. What I learned from my…
