Super soft. Calm. Big enough to cover a queen size air mattress. Worked great to keep out the cold air that used to come in through the air mattress. The inner mylar layer reflected the head back into our sleeping bags. We also placed 4 closed cell camping mats on the floor under the air mattress to keep cold air out of the air mattress in the first place. These pads had a reflective layer to cool us off the ground.

I can't tell you how much I appreciated this addition to our camping gear. Camping can get a bit chilly in the spring, and an air mattress is like sleeping on a block of ice. I use this topper on an extended air mattress and it fits perfectly. It is lightweight and packs easily. I bought this pillow for indoor use on an air mattress. I don't usually "sleep cold," although without a thick blanket to protect me from the airbed, I do get cold when I sleep, even indoors. I thought this pillow would be perfect, although I found that even with it I had to use extra insulating material to not feel the cold air from the airbed. So sad.

It does exactly what it says on the tin and does it well. It blocks the transfer of cold from beneath you to your body, allowing your body heat to warm the area between it and your blanket. What it doesn't do is add heat. It's not the same as an electric blanket. If you want extra warmth, take one of these.
