Allegra Vintage Gilding Metallic Burgundy Review

This dress is really cute and very beautiful. I ordered the medium one which I wear often and it fits perfectly. I'm about 5'3" tall, 38" bust, 31" waist, 43" hips. I love how the stars sparkle, but I'm worried the shiny gold will come off in the wash because it's almost gold paint on little "dried glue" stars. It will still be cute and wearable when the gold comes loose, but hopefully that doesn't happen.

I waited until the last minute to find a dress for my company's awards ceremony and there was nothing suitable for the occasion in town. I stumbled across this dress and had to dare! Ordered Friday evening and arrived Sunday evening. I also ordered an elastic waistband and it fits perfectly! I received countless compliments at the awards ceremony and cannot recommend this dress enough!

So the size didn't suit me a bit. I usually wear a US Large or 12. I bought both colors in Medium (US 10) and Large (US 14) because I wasn't sure which would fit best. I left the medium because I felt the large was a little too loose and baggy on me. The environment seemed fitter, but was still comfortable. I'm returning Large. "Pink” is also more of a beige with a slight hint of rouge. Anyway, I love both dresses but the black one is definitely my favorite.

I must say I was very pleasantly surprised that this is a very nice dress for only $28! Out of the box, the beautiful gold stars aren't actually printed on them like I thought, but are raised and catch the light very nicely. It fits me perfectly, maybe a bit bigger for a medium size but I wouldn't go down a size. Because it's better than expected, it's a little more formal than I thought. This dress is so cute! I wore it to our annual winter graduation and it was perfect! I ordered black in L and dark blue in XL. I seem perfect in the middle because the L was a bit tight on my chest (I'm pretty busty at 40DD) but fit perfectly elsewhere so I ended up wearing the XL which fit my chest well but the neckline on the Neck was a little loose so didn't sit snugly on my neck. I just received my dress today (about 2 weeks) and it is very beautiful - I am impressed with the quality, at least without the packaging. The stars really shine! However, it is short; definitely need tights with it. I'm teetering between 20 and 24 (probably closer to 24 at the moment) and have ordered 3X.
