They are sold as 100% cotton but have a very plastic feel to them. .The outside is 100% cotton but is bound with plastic-like synthetic material so I would never classify it as 100% cotton. Not recommended at all.

I didn't just buy them because of my allergies but because they said they were 100% cotton. When I first opened the packaging they looked like plastic. I washed them and they felt a little better. When I put them on the pillows I was worried they would make noise, they don't make noise and I noticed a big difference in my allergies. So I would recommend buying these pillow protectors.

I bought these for use in an upscale rental property. I'm picky about what I wear. I really want to touch, feel BEFORE buying, but the price on them was great so I held my breath and hoped for the best. Upon arrival I found I had made an excellent purchase. I haven't used them but have for a week. Time will tell as to their durability but I can tell you that right out of the box they felt very good. They appear to be of excellent quality and will hopefully provide our guests with a good night's

Very nice set. I used to buy a set of allergy pillowcases from another company and had to wash them before use! They had a strange smell right out of the box. It was a chemical smell. These don't smell at all! I was able to put them on pillows right out of the box. Something I couldn't do with any other company's pillowcases. The only thing I didn't know is that it kind of makes the pillow heavier. Or I think they aren't big enough so they squeeze into the pillow (my king and queen's pillows are snug on them) and the material just makes it a little firmer. What I do not like. My pillow was perfect, so a little extra firmness made me a little unhappy. The second problem is the smell.
