Sleeping on it sounds exactly like I imagine sleeping on a garbage bag. The material is not suitable for sleeping. We have other mattress pads that are softer and you won't even realize they're there. I might as well sleep on a tarp!

This mattress pad makes me sweat! I had it on my bed for almost a month and immediately noticed a difference. Something about the fabric on this case gives off an uncomfortably high amount of heat when you're lying on it. And yes, it has a flat sheet. Looking for another.

looks used! Not in original packaging, no zip case, (supplied assembled) no tags identifying it as "Allerease". The only label on the inside said "Target," all crumpled. "Beautiful" is the name of the company I have to return it to. What were they trying to find out? I must reciprocate this inconvenience of mine, and in the meantime they have my $.

This is an allergy protection only type, not a fully bed bug proof type (my favorite due to the what if factor). They are almost identical except for the zippered lid. I didn't look closely before buying. But it absolutely does the job. We've only been using this brand for about ten years with no problems.

While I can't comment on the allergy protection this product offers, I can say it's not waterproof at all. The liquid went right through and ruined our mattress. Very disappointing. I sent it back and am looking for something really waterproof. I gave two stars as it looks good and is easy to clean.

We love the psychological support we get from using the allergy and waterproof covers that come with wrapping our mattresses and pillows in these covers. The covers we use keep dog poo, saliva and nosebleeds off the surface of our mattresses and pillows, and then we can toss the covers in the wash. These cases do not make a rustling or "crunching" noise like some of the cases available.

No noticeable outgassing. So you don't breathe in volatile organic compounds all night long. In the age of respiratory diseases, this is an important feature. Watch out for the zipper though. If you use it on an air mattress and it is very narrow, you will delay the mattress inflation. I ordered 2 of these a year ago and they still work great, work every day and during that time they have not been removed for washing every 5 days. This mattress pad is the cheapest mattress pad made of polyethylene film. Polyethylene helps reduce the release of gases from the mattress; it also does everything else advertised here - against dust mites, against bed bugs, etc. They are difficult to remove and wash.
