Alloy USA 451100 Perrmanent Cable Lock Kit for Differentials Review

Works as described. However, I had to drill out the original fork to fit the new shaft. Otherwise there were no problems installing it on my Dana 60.

Fits my 2001 Dodge. Machine performance is not the best. The threaded holes were very tight, the vent hole was the wrong thread. I switched it to the desired thread, it doesn't leak.

Put on immediately due to emergency, I'm driving straight ahead and had to rip it apart to use the original case. The one that came with the kit did not meet the specifications and does not work. Absolute crap in this case. But I'm glad I spent the money on the screw.

Opened the item box and found a folded gasket at the bottom of the box. The part seal is badly dented, which will likely render it unusable. Gaskets are used to seal two pieces of metal against each other to retain fluid. If it is damaged, bent, or cracked, it will most likely fail prematurely, if at all. Very disappointed, the gasket should be flat and not curved.

Two stars because everything worked and the instructions are clear. The cork seal was not included but was listed in the instructions. The stem that goes through the fork was too big and had to be ground down and the hole in the fork enlarged. The body casting was too narrow for the fork and had to be sanded down. In addition, the threads in the plaster were very tight. If I had a faucet that size it would be useful. Also, the fork was original to the Jeep, so I'm guessing it has good specs.

Everything was a good fit. The only problem I had was that my original fork didn't fit. It was too wide and couldn't fit the body completely. Since my fork was loose on the steerer, the first thing I did was to purchase a #450100 Alloy USA replacement fork. Tolerances are very tight so expect the shaft to go through the fork. I used some Royal Purple Grease to apply. I like the fill hole built into the case. As a side note, cork pads make me cringe. I would like to see a better seal with this…
