comfortable and durable

This (2 purchased) "second round" of this make (Alpen) and model for me. The first two sets were used at least once a week for 6 or 7 years, always roughed up and stored outdoors. This set had stronger temple pads; the rest is really no change. This new set has armrest padding that needs to be glued or replaced - it is too thin. With the exception of the padding on the armrests, the comfort is worth 5 stars. In fact, the comfort and durability of these chairs are the reason we came back in…

Speaking of strong!: Camping

We needed chairs that we could throw in the car and take to events, but we didn't want to risk the chairs breaking or not working properly on wet floors. These chairs are beasts! They're heavy, so keep that in mind if you want to carry something super light. These are the chairs I will consider because they are so comfortable and durable that I don't have to worry about them. I ordered two and they arrived at different times, a few days apart. In the meantime, I've received word from Revain…

  • Probationary period for one year

The comfort of the chair when hiking or cheering on your kids

I bought two of these chairs after seeing someone else use them at a soccer game. I had back surgery 3 years ago and a regular chair in a bag doesn't work for me. It's fabulous! They are very spacious both in depth and in width. They are also very strong and support me very well. The seat doesn't sag, making it feel like you're sitting in a regular chair, not the portable one you took to a game or party in the trunk. They don't come with a carrying case, but that's a small price to pay for the…

Even better than the previous model we owned

I bought two of these chairs in August 2021 and I love them. They were actually replacements for two other chairs we bought from the same brand over 10 years ago that ended up falling apart (fabric). I expect these chairs to stand the test of time and give us many years of enjoyment. We have taken them to the beach and mountains and often sit in them on the back deck rather than on the patio furniture. I'm 6ft 7in and 325lbs and they support me tremendously. They also sit higher than most…

Nice but is it safe outside (explain)?

The chair unfolds and assembles fairly easily. It's firm and doesn't sag much when I put my massive ass in it. Seat at adult height. However, when reading the supplied literature, I am almost afraid to take it outside. The warning states that prolonged exposure to the sun can damage the seat and backrest material. They also warn you about getting the chair wet as they say their protective coating on the metal parts wears off as the chair folds and unfolds! I don't think they've heard of jacks…

Very strong, a bit heavy, trick to assemble

The chair is very strong with welded joints. Haven't used it long enough to test the fabric but it seems durable. The chair is a bit heavy and bulky as it is made of metal and only folds in one direction. Assembly can be a little tricky as rear inserts need to be installed. The chair folds with the inserts so you can put them in and out once, but then the chair is taller when folded. I've added some photos to show how to properly assemble the rear inserts. You may want to stretch the chair…

Designed for plus size people!

Finding a patio or camping chair for a tall person is extremely difficult. After months of comparison shopping and rejecting an incredible amount of plus size camp chairs, I finally settled on this one. I'm very glad I did. I am tall and unfortunately very fat 300#+. I have a hard time finding furniture that is the right height (so I can sit down easily) and strong enough to support my weight without feeling like it's about to collapse. This chair is extremely durable, both the frame and the…

Very high quality and well made! Not the cheapest but worth the price.

We used folding bag chairs. On a whim we bought two cheap director's chairs last camping season to see if we liked them better. Nobody wanted to use the old chairs so this season I decided we needed two more. I've looked at cheaper chairs but people have complained that the stitching on the back has unraveled and rendered the chair unusable. The backrests on these chairs aren't the same material configuration, so stretching doesn't seem to be an issue. The metal of these chairs is very durable.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Something different

Packed with pieces

The chair was great. My problem was how I got it. It came in a plastic bag, in a box (no packaging foam) and with a small tear in the rubber armrest that was repairable with Gorilla Glue. never mind The weirdest thing was when I pulled it out of the plastic bag I noticed that it had tiny white splinters of an unidentifiable material on it. Have you ever broken Corelle's white plate or bowl? This is what it looks like. broken glass. I haven't thought about it too much. Factories aren't exactly…
