Altra derailed - crappy quality

I have bought many pairs of Altras and unfortunately this will be my last pair for a while. They were larger and had a thicker heel than previous altras which is ok, I wore them to be casual. Basically all I did was walk in it. No jumping, no training, no sledding, no hiking. And the rubber falls off. ON BOTH SHOES. I don't think you can have a defective pair if it's both shoes. These shoes are less than 60 days old. Altra - If you're listening, please let us find a way to fix this. I value…

Pros
  • The blue and orange colorway looks stylish and eye-catching, making it a great option for serious runners and casual athletes.
Cons
  • Shoes may not provide adequate grip on wet surfaces.

Solid sneakers without drops

Before this shoe, I ran in minimalist running shoes and had to switch to shoes with more cushioning. That really made the transition easier. No drip with significant padding for longer runs. My minimalist shoes hurt my knees and feet after a 1/2 marathon, these remedies got me out of that problem. I found them very easy on my joints and legs and helped me get through my first marathon distance training and my full Ironman run. Expect about 400 miles with these boots before replacing them.

Pros
  • A great investment in your health and fitness, the ALTRA Men AL0A4VQJ Provision 5 road running shoe offers superior quality and durability to help you achieve your running goals.
Cons
  • The shoes may not provide enough cushioning for some runners.

Good but solid best in my rating

I am a big Altea fan and really want to love these shoes but they are too stiff for me. Next time I will return to Thorin. That's my review!

Pros
  • Great hiking shoe, very comfortable and fits perfectly.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with flat feet.

short laces in my review

What the heck is up with those super short laces? I need to replace the laces that come with the kit. The shoes are poorly made. The first reactions are negative compared to all other Altra running shoes that I have liked.

Pros
  • Shoe size 8.5 US offers the perfect fit for most men and also offers sufficient support for people with wide or long feet.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with high arches.

LOVE this version of Provision!

Preparing for the Twin Cities Marathon with two pairs of provisions and paradigm. I wish the outsole material was more durable (ran at Brooks for many years).

Pros
  • Good for wide feet. Nice and light. I will buy more in the future.
Cons
  • The soles started peeling off after about a month. Not what I'm used to from Altra

Very handy in my review

I bought a pair before a trip that I knew would involve a lot of walking. No complaints. Fits well and my feet never hurt. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • I love room for my toes!
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for trail running.

Great shoes I think

I always buy ALTRA shoes, but for the first time from the Provision series. Fit great and are very comfortable, I will buy again.

Pros
  • Hubby has worn Altras for years because of the zero drop and wide toe box. He says it's his favorite!
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for those with wider feet.

Nice but not for me

The width was perfect for me but unfortunately had to be returned. The laces were too short and I felt like I was constantly slipping out of my cure.

Pros
  • Midsole cushioning provides maximum shock absorption and reduces stress on feet and legs during long runs.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with overpronation.
