It was a great purchase as a gift for a friend. Looks great on his wall but opening the box was a hassle. The plastic wrap was under the screws, and when he removed the plastic, one of the screws came loose and broke one of the frames. We glued it on to fix it, but we were still upset that it broke. Also, the thumb tracks were packaged oddly and we had to push the pointed part through the plastic to use them. Although it turned out beautiful.

I ordered two sets of these frames (four frames in total). I wouldn't really consider them grey, but more of a light brown with a bleached cast (maybe a bit of white/grey in this particular case). I would give it five stars for the packaging as they arrived intact and well packaged; however, as others have said, the entire frame is wrapped in plastic. It's not necessary to unscrew the screws to remove the plastic, but it does take a bit to carefully cut it off. No big deal, just a little more…

This product is very disappointing! I know it wasn't expensive but I was expecting better quality than what I got. For all prospective buyers, please note that when packing, each frame is wrapped separately in plastic and THEN the ropes are screwed into the back of the frames. The ONLY way to completely remove the plastic is to loosen each screw. AND THEN, because it's all so cheap, the screws ripped off and I had to glue them in! ridiculous. Frame and concept are ok - the problem for me was that the individual frames were welded in before the manufacturer attached a small cord - they actually screw the cord to the back of the frame that was already welded in place - so you either have to unscrew the cable to unfold the frames and the cable isn't strong or strong enough to be removed and then reattached (I know because one of the screws fell out and I have it done not even touch) or try to pull out the plastic from under the cables…

They look really nice on the wall after trying to fix the frayed rope at the ends. I actually used museum putty on the underside of the back to hide the frayed part of the rope because that part is hidden in everything when hanging. The packaging is terrible, you have to unscrew the screws on the back to get everything off and I used tweezers carefully to pry the parts out. Has anyone heard of putting on the clear packaging first and then the screws? It took me about half an hour for each frame
