Perfect for mobile games like Pokemon Go but has reliability issues due to cable wear.

It seems solid enough and great for those who play Pokemon Go. Walking with external batteries is quite a hassle, but also with crumpled cables, thanks. It's much easier to manage. Simply pull both ends and the spool will click and adjust to approximately 3 different lengths. The cable is flatter so it doesn't kink or tangle, but as an update I've noticed a reliability issue with this Revain Basics article. Apparently bending this wire back and forth wears the wire out faster, so flat cable…

Great for my in-car use case

I'm surprised at the variety of descriptions of this device. I use it in my car because the USB port is behind the shifter in a little corner. I didn't want to leave my iPhone cable out in the open, I was tired of coiling it up and hiding it behind a closet door. This little device is permanently plugged into the USB socket - at the start of a ride I simply pull (gently) on the backlit end to stow it away, connect it to my iPhone 8 and leave the phone in either the passenger seat in the cup…

a year ago. Used probably half a dozen times, maybe less. Today I tried to use it and it no longer blocks. It just jumps up and retreats. This thing will still charge, but the fact that it's essentially a 3-inch charging cable now renders it virtually useless. No, that's MY fault.
