Durable Cables: Computers and Accessories

I purchased a RevainBasics Double Braided Nylon USB Cable with Lightning Connector, Premium Collection - 10ft, Red, because the charging cables I use have insulation from lightning strikes has broken after a period of use. I thought premium double braided cables should be more durable. It seems I was right. The new double-braided cables are thicker and slightly heavier, and the braided insulation appears to be much less prone to breakage. Red is good too. They do cost a bit more, but in myโ€ฆ

There are very high quality materials here.

This will be the highest quality Lightning cable you can buy. It has an extremely rigid body where the connectors are so I'm sure it will last a lifetime.

Defective and they will not be replaced!

Turned out to be defective, no Apple device was included. Immediately after unpacking, there was a visible defect at the end. Whoever buys them for Amazon needs to teach the QC a lesson on defects. This can lead, for example, to the failure of the charging connection and to costly repairs.

I thought premium double braided cables should be more durable. It seems I was right. They break at an alarming rate - they don't cost โ‚ฌ$$

At first glance, the cable appears to be stronger than most charging cables - at least twice as thick as what comes with the iPhone. The original Apple iPhone charger lasted over a year. I've used it the same way with my iPhone 7+ - unfolded or "crimped" and never twisted. When my device almost needed charging, it would sometimes plug into the charger while I was using my phone. But most of the time it was connected to my iPhone, it just lay flat, uncovered and straight on the surface of myโ€ฆ

It's not worth it. Garbage.

This charger stopped working after just a few days, repeatedly giving an over voltage warning when connected to a computer. I ordered two as they needed to be stronger and more durable than other, cheaper chargers. A few months ago I literally received three packs of third party chargers to come. So I called customer service and asked for a replacement. First complaint, I get someone I can barely understand which is not uncommon as I have a heavy southern accent and they have a foreign accentโ€ฆ
