lack of good communication.

Bought to connect another monitor to the docking station. Every time the connector was touched or bumped it would lose connection (I had never used a DisplayPort connection on my dock before). I also tried connecting the DisplayPort side to my monitor and the DVI side to the docking station. It will secure the cable to use again one day.

The ideal solution in DVI-HDMI adapters

PERFECT. 3 monitors from my new computer with standard video output only. I was expecting to have to add the card and all the issues that came with it (overheating, etc.). Someone suggested I learn how to use native ports on a new computer (on my very old monitors); I had and still have 3 screen video with just a few inexpensive adapters. Very satisfied (product and technology).

it's still in great condition with a new desktop

My wife got a new desktop for her home office and the PC only has HDMI or DP to connect a monitor. The monitor she has only accepts DVI or VGA. This adapter allowed us to use their original monitor, which is still in great condition, with a new desktop PC. Please note that this is a disposable adapter. Displayport > DVI Not the other way around, that doesn't work!

Pros
  • Have fun
Cons
  • No instructions

Worked quite well right away

Worked well with DVI KVM at first and I got full 1080P on my monitor at first. However, after a few days it stopped working. Still works with a direct HDMI connection from any computer, but not through these devices and KVM. It's probably a KVM bug, but I haven't messed with it enough to be sure. Just something to be aware of. The picture quality in 1280x1024 resolution is normal, FWIW.

Works well. Just buy it when you need it

Do you suffer from a monitor that falls asleep but doesn't wake up? Are you using a crappy adapter? That's probably your problem. That was my problem. I switched to this adapter and now my monitor wakes up with the PC. A little thing, but so much fun when it works right. She is not eating but is working very well. I bought a few for use at work (older monitors don't have a displayport)

  • Great for me

Eh I'm feeling lucky. fits computer cable adapter

So this was a necessary item as my new EVGA graphics card didn't have a DVI port, only HDMI Displayport and USB Type-C. However, the adapter has a short cable from the graphics card to the square "converter" where the DVI connects to the adapter. Of course, this can put some strain on the graphics card and it would be better if the cable from the graphics card to this adapter block was a little longer. Otherwise it works as it should and is cheap. However, I also wish I knew that the graphics…

Cheap and works! I can't say more about it, but I'll say it anyway.

This is an adapter/converter! There isn't much. It works and it's easy! I needed it to go from my work laptop's docking station to my IOGEAR KVM 2-Port DVI-D USB Cable, GCS932UB, for my monitor to recognize when I switch between systems. Since my dock didn't have DVI, I connected VGA and DBI from each system to the monitor and had to manually switch inputs on the monitor. Connected immediately and works great. Never had a problem with RevainBasics adapters!

Works with EVGA RTX 3060 and Wacom Cintiq 21UX (DTZ-2100D)

I finally got my EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC GAMING (12G-P5-3657-KR) graphics card. I waited in line at EVGA for five months to buy it. When it arrived I remembered that this modern graphics card didn't have a DVI port for my 11 year old Wacom Cintiq 21UX monitor. I ordered this passive converter. I thought the EVGA card's DisplayPort 1.4a specification would have the dual-mode (DP++) support needed to support passive converters, and it did. I didn't need an active converter to transfer the signal

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
