Premium Espresso Floating Shelves: Amazon Basics 24-Inch 2-Pack with Ledge Review

Shelves arrived with various defects such as discoloration, chipped wood and traces of paint. We had to install them in a less visible place.

Reason for two stars because it's durable and well made. I spent over an hour hanging it on the wall. I'm not sure if the design is bad. I was so frustrated I had to drive nails into the floor to make sure it was hanging on the wall.

I can't give a full review as I assembled shelves and there are no fittings in the box. Not a single screw anywhere. This is the second item I received today that does not have the correct hardware. At least my other item was only missing one, but this one has NONE! Very disappointed, I expect more from Revain for the money I'm spending here.

Terrible product! The shelf itself is very heavy. And the installation did not work according to the instructions. The instructions show what is being drilled through the spine. But the shelf has no back. They have small holes through which you should try to align the screw heads. It did not work. I managed to hang 1 out of 2 on other devices. The second one I put up fell off this morning. i will throw it away Terrible product.

One of the shelves I received was crooked. I understand that not everything will be perfectly balanced but the way it hangs allows things to slide off and it just looked awful on my wall. I believe the holes drilled for one side of the assembly were maybe a half inch too small and one of the side pieces was a bit shorter than the other ruining the whole thing. The other is perfect and a great product but it annoys me that I spent over $30 on a good shelf.

That's how she came to me, so not to me, but to my neighbor. It was left on the side of her wall. One day she gave it to me, the box was torn, tattered and partially open. Now that I've removed everything, I notice that the screws are missing! I can't even put it together. Now I have to go to the hardware store to get the materials I need so I can assemble it. It's too heavy to send back and the packaging it came in doesn't hold up. As they say "cheap is expensive".

Parts were not flush when assembled. I took it apart and walked around to see if the pieces would fit together better, but it didn't. The pieces of wood had different shades of color. The inside and outside edges were rough. And the parts didn't fit together when tightening the screws, so there are noticeable gaps in the built-in shelves. Because of this, the shelves moved. When hung, they look like parallelograms. The wood is nice and thick but the shelves are rubbish. I am very dissatisfied…

A total of 16 smaller screws (1 1/8") for mounting hardware and 4 longer screws for wall mounting (1 1/2") are expected to be included. However, I only received 8 smaller screws and 4 long screws. So I only managed to assemble one shelf (which I haven't installed yet). Sometime this week I have to run to the hardware store to find smaller screws, which is a bit of a hassle. Always check all parts before assembly! However, the wood is in good condition. No scratches, no dents, no paint chips.
