🔌 4-Pack of Black Amazon Basics Micro USB (Female) to USB-C (Male) Adapters Review

I bought these to convert the USB-C connector to a micro USB connector to connect a micro USB camera (Seek Thermal). It did not work. Seek recommended me another brand (Weduda) that seems to work. When I buy something that needs to convert an outlet, I expect it to "just work". It's not like this. It can also work for other purposes.

I bought these for my new phone (Google Pixel 2) because I didn't want all my old charging cables to become obsolete. I really think they are very cute! I was impressed by how small and compact they are. I find most electronics adapters clunky and clunky. But it's great! Small and thin, they slide completely over the micro USB, allowing the adapter to sit flush with the host. I mainly use them for Anker brand mini USB codes.

They fit and work well but I have a Cray version with a short chain and spring loaded clasps on each end of the chain that I was trying to attach the adapter to the USB cable, so this cable can also be used for Micro USB phones without worrying about losing the adapter. Unfortunately, the latches don't open wide enough to fit through my regular USB cables. I had to use a zip tie on the USB cable and then attach a clip to it - a bit clumsy.

If you just got a new device that needs a USB-C port, but most of your cables are outdated and others in the house are still using them, it's great to have them handy to use easy to attach when you need them for your device. I was a little disappointed that the clips don't open wide enough to attach to a cord so they're right there when you need them. I think maybe they should be attached to key rings or something? I don't know what they were thinking, the clips aren't that helpful.

There's not much to say about these USB adapters from RevainBasics other than they're well made and fit well on both ends. The outer shell is small enough to connect to my Google Pixel 3a phone with a case. The rubber pad/key fob holder at the end of the micro USB appears to be built into the adapter so it cannot be removed unless it is cut off or pulled very hard to tear it off. The only real issue with this adapter is the keychain clip, which doesn't open wide enough to attach every USB cable

Phones have recently been upgraded and the charging port has changed from micro USB to USB C I needed some adapters for these cables to convert them to USB convert C. Read online that many Revain adapters do not meet USB specs and can melt. Luckily I stumbled across this item that Revain "produces" and sells. They are also USB-IF certified. I have purchased two versions of this product: White and Metallic Gray with Chain. I've had white ones for over 3 weeks, only now gray ones. In terms of functionality, they work exactly as described.
