It works, but every device I connect it to kicks it in a terribly annoying high sound to squeal. It's like it makes the electronics vibrate in an unusual way or something. I get this squeak when I connect the hub to my desktop or laptop, which are different brands and processors.

I bought this unit to increase the number of USB devices connected to my 2019 Mac laptop and to address the issue of storing my constantly growing number of charged devices. Good: It works and has all the connections and speeds I need. It connects directly to my Mac without a dongle. For me, ports up and all pointing in the same direction were aesthetically pleasing. Poorly. It needs to be plugged into a wall to work, and that's fine. But it also requires the Mac to be on and awake to charge…

This product works great right out of the box, but somehow it comes with a "universal" power cord that allows you to switch the plug adapter to US, EU, etc. and it makes a high-pitched hum when it is plugged in / squeaks. It took me forever to figure out where the noise in my apartment was coming from. Luckily I had a compatible plug but I would recommend finding a similar product or making sure you have an extra 12V 3A wall adapter.
