I bought this unit to increase the number of USB devices connected to my 2019 Mac laptop and to address the issue of storing my constantly growing number of charged devices. Good: It works and has all the connections and speeds I need. It connects directly to my Mac without a dongle. For me, ports up and all pointing in the same direction were aesthetically pleasing. Poorly. It needs to be plugged into a wall to work, and that's fine. But it also requires the Mac to be on and awake to charge devices. It's not what I expected and I found it limited its value for me since I can't use it to power my devices by plugging them in overnight.
