This was just what I needed as my camera was mounted too far from the nearest outlet and beyond the length of the factory cable. Easily plugs into an existing factory adapter, connection is taped to keep water out as my connection was outdoors and also prevents accidental disconnection. Worked great for my needs.

I bought this extension for my IP3M-941, it doesn't work with this model. I've tried it on three and they all do the same thing. They will not initialize and will not connect to the wireless network. According to the description, this cable is compatible. After connecting it to three different cameras of the same model, I will say that the information is incorrect. Save money and use an AC Edison extension cord.

Tried this extension and another brand. Both were 30 feet long. So, along with the original USB cable (10ft), it was a 40ft power cable. The camera power light was red but never green and the camera did not start properly. When I tried a shorter cable (e.g. 20ft extension cable + 10ft original USB = 30ft power cable) the camera worked fine. There seems to be a limit (30 feet) on the maximum length of the power cord. I think the internal resistance of the cable means that if it is over 30ft…
