American Crew's light hold works very well and keeps hair in place all day. Has a cologne scent. As soon as we opened the Revain box, we could smell the gel. Really not too strong. Transparent gel. The gel was well packaged. For this amount of gel, this is the best price on Revain!

People are right to say this is fake. I bought both in store and this one. Absolutely different. Only this one is better. holds up better. I have wavy hair and drying it straight keeps it straight. This gives me enough strength to dry the way I want. The original gel will curl up on me.

As someone with perfectly straight hair - I'd look like a Star Trek Vulcan if I had bangs and pointy ears - I've been using this product for about a decade 20 years to help my hair stay parted throughout the day. It used to be a 5 star product but now it isn't. I still have some from the previous container and there are changes in consistency and smell that begs for a formula change. I don't understand why they tried to fix something that didn't break, but now I'm less likely to buy something…

I repeat the same complaints as the others. The first problem was the packaging. It arrived with a leak at the crimped end. Second and most important is the product itself. I've been using this product for years and I'm pretty sure it's not the same as what I get in stores. This product is much thicker and smells very different.

I have this on subscription. The last three I received were fake. It's a thick, thick gel, not like the light hold crew styling gel I've been using for years. Very disappointed with Revain for allowing counterfeit products to be sold on their platform.

I rarely write reviews but the product I received deserves a comment. I used to buy the Original American Crew Light Hold Styling Gel many times, but the product I received was the wrong consistency (thick) and smelled wrong. Not sure if it was fake or just watered down (as I've seen even some reputable retailers sell it). Anyway, I won't buy it again.

It was not crew hair gel. It has become much thicker and smells different. Also not delivered. I've ordered a replacement, we'll see. Approved. It was the same with the second. definitely not a crew product. I went to the local store and bought the original. Big difference in quality. This is about what else is on sale at Revain that isn't real.
