The FD700 OBD2 scanner is specially designed for diagnosing most 12V 16-Pin FORD/LINCOLN/MERCURY Ford Series vehicles(after 1996), but it also has the ability to work on 12V cars and light trucks (non-electric) manufactured in 1996 or later that are OBD II-compliant with 16-Pin OBD II protocols (J1850 VPM, J1850PWM, ISO9141, KWP 2000 and CAN). OBD 6 modes for OBD II vehicles, FD700 is capable of reading/erasing, showing error code definitions, turning off the MIL (check engine light), reading data stream, testing EVAP system, reading I/M and retrieving VIN information. Basic functions for FORD Group vehicles: it can do the all system diagnosis(ABS, Transmission, SAS, SRS, ESP, TPMS and other systems). Please note that FD700 only can diagnose engine system for 16 pin Non-FORD vehicles sold in the US after 1996. But it can do more systems and special functions for FORD vehicles. Doesn't work with 2021 F150

The scanner will work with the basic OBDII interface on the 2021 F150 but will not be able to identify the vehicle and will not work with certain Ford scanners. The latest software only shows trucks from 2019. I returned this product due to incompatibility reasons.

Pros
  • Auto vehicle model recognition makes it easy to use. Two colored UI themes to choose from. Free lifetime software updates are available to fix the latest bugs or add new options. Just download the software from the official website and then follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
Cons
  • Interchangeable

Used to read Parking Assist Module (PAM)

Used an Ancel FD700 to repair a 2011 F150 Park Assist Backup System. I plugged it into the OBDII port and after a few minutes I found out how many backup sensors have failed and where they are. Simple and easy, don't even read the instructions. Buy with case.

Pros
  • . The FD700 OBD2 scanner is specifically designed to diagnose most Ford/LINCOLN/MERCURY series vehicles with a 12-pin 12-pin connector (after 1996), but can also work with 12V powered vehicles. B and light trucks (non-electric) 1996 or later OBD II compliant with 16 pin OBD II protocols (J1850 VPM, J1850PWM, ISO9141, KWP 2000 and CAN).
Cons
  • Protection

User-friendly, good for diagnostic, testing and measuring tools

Used on a 2018 Ford V10 Motorhome with just over 10,000 miles. The device easily identified the car and correctly identified the problem. I had an engine light on the display that indicated a misfire for the first few hundred engine revs after starting. I fixed the error and ran the test a few more times, but no error occurred. It saved me several hundred dollars when I got it to the store.

Pros
  • Key functions for FORD group vehicles: It can diagnose all systems (ABS, Transmission, SAS, SRS, ESP, TPMS and other systems). Please note that the FD700 can only diagnose the engine system of third party vehicles sold after 1996 in the US with a 16 pin connector. But it can run more systems and special functions for FORD vehicles.
Cons
  • High Price

Still in the air

Hard to tell, I disconnected the battery before I got this scanner and it wiped the engine light. Now you have to drive and wait for the lights to come back on to see the problem or if there is one. Also, it seems pretty easy, if you are having trouble figuring out how to use it and what it means, only Youtube Scanner and watching the video will help. The scanner looks and feels good. I recommend getting a case I made so it doesn't wobble.

Pros
  • OBD 6 modes for OBD II vehicles, the FD700 can read/erase, view trouble code definitions, turn off MIL (check engine light), read data stream, test EVAP system, read I/M and retrieve information by VIN .
Cons
  • Repair
