Description of πŸ”’ Ancra 45214-14-02 Black 12" Soft Hook Tie Down Extension, 4 Pack: Secure Transport Solution for Heavy Loads

Ancra's Black 12-inch soft-hook extensions protect chrome and paint, eliminating damaging metal to metal contact. Nylon webbing acts as a tie down extension, looping around handlebars or rear seat rails, and allowing for multiple safe tie down locations. Eliminates damage that can be caused by the hard contact of steel hooks, and helps quickly and easily secure your load. Each soft-hook extension is built form 3,000 lbs. tensile strength nylon, with a working capacity of 400lbs per strap. 4 Total Soft-Hook Extensions.

Soft Ankra ties, they are great!

They are excellent for attaching to parts of the motorcycle such as handlebars and handrails where the mounting hooks do not fit well or could damage them.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Functionality

Ancra can't go wrong with Ancra

IMO Ancra simply makes the best cable ties and soft hooks without exception. Specifically, they're a bit shorter (12") than most (18") and work great when the trailer's attachment point is too close to the bike's attachment point. This eliminates the need to traverse the frame twice.

The perfect companion to Ancra cable ties

The perfect companion to Ancra cable ties, these soft cable ties secure hauling gear and eliminate the need to attach strap hooks to anchor points. Makes it easier to tow or tow to secure your load. I use for motorcycles/quads and they work great.

Does exactly what it says. Can be improved.

Arrived exactly as described. They work fine. I use them to tie a Yamaha R1. In my opinion these straps would work even better if they were about 4 inches longer. Also, the design could have been improved if at least one side of the strap had a layer of softer material. Maybe a two-layer construction with a felt layer. or suede, connected by a nylon cord.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Damaged

Light and short

Bought after losing one of the last pairs I've had in over 15 years (I thought it was the Ancra). I buy ties from Ancra and I like them but these let me down. Compared to my set, they were narrower, thinner and shorter. The picture shows one of my existing padded ties versus the new Ancra (above). I don't understand why they didn't just use the same nylon webbing they use for the ties (like my old soft ties).

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Tall and chunky

the best and still made in the USA

As everyone knows, bracket extenders are essential when transporting a motorcycle. I use Ancra cable ties and extensions almost every day and always carry a couple of extensions with me when I go for a walk just in case. Chances are you will lose them or borrow them before having to replace them due to wear and tear. I'm sure you will find others, but at least leave some of the gold in the US and buy these US made belts, they probably won't let you down.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Useless features

Attention buyers! Accessories

BUYER CAUTION NOT AS RECOMMENDED! These bindings are advertised with a WWL load of 1200lbs. NOT SO! According to the manufacturer's label attached to the strap, the WWL is only 800 pounds. I have contacted the seller about this and informed him of my intention to return the product. They emailed me with a detailed explanation of how the DOT requires the WWL to be lowered, and although the manufacturer's label says the pen weighs 800 pounds, it holds a lot more, so they advertise a WWL of 1200…
