They can also be used without guards for near-zero cuts and include multiple guards. The included guards hold up well and appear to be well made too.

STOP! I don't care what anyone says, this product is NOT NEW. The chrome part was scratched by fingerprints. The cable was not coiled, like new. The clippers were misaligned and we weren't even properly aligned. The box looked like it had been opened multiple times. Very disappointed with this clipper. They worked great initially. The blades were sharp, the engine was strong, and the body feeling was comfortable. Unfortunately, after six months of use, when I was cutting my hair, the motor seemed to have shorted out. It turns on and off after a few seconds. My Val didn't have any such problems.
