Very well made, very easy to assemble. I put one of these on my last boat and went from 2 stations to everything on the dial. We just bought a new pontoon and it had an antenna under the dash. From 1999 to 2017 I used the factory loose wire antenna on my Larson Sei 206 so reception is almost zero. I switched to this antenna and discovered the beauty of the old simple radio reception on the lake. You don't have to be actively picking iTunes songs all the time, just take it easy every once in a while.

I have a 1993 Four Winns Horizon 210 Runabout. There's no spot on the boat where the fiberglass is thin enough to mount this thing. The threads are just too short. Also, I plugged it in to see if it works. That's how it was, but it also worked with the mast down. Something is wrong with this picture. The build quality is good. To return. Why is the maximum case thickness not specified in the description? I would say maybe 3/16". Definitely not a quarter of an inch.

The antenna is very easy to install. Since my old antenna broke, I looked for a new one. It was the right price, easy to install and works very well. My only complaint is that the screw that holds the antenna upright or folded doesn't hold up very well. I wanted something that would easily move from folded to upright, but once you've done that you'll need to re-tighten it with the Allen wrench that was provided. However, I don't really like doing that after a few hits.

The antenna was easy to install and didn't take up much space, but my walkie-talkie could pick up a radio station without an antenna and maybe 3 with an antenna. Antenna, which means the antenna only picks up 2 other channels. I certainly expected to reach more stations since I live 3 minutes from the city. The antenna itself feels very solid and is made of quality materials. The antenna was mounted on a 22 foot deck boat and the fiberglass face is approximately 1/4" to 3/8" thick. The length of the mounting bolt barely went through the surface far enough to screw in the top of the antenna. In fact, I had to leave the bottom of the mounting base to expose enough threads.
