Don't worry

Bought and must have received a used/returnable unit or a dollar an hour Chinese didn't attach the plastic screen protector for shipping and forgot to include mounting screws for the included belt clip. Either way it works and that's all I really need. My friend bought it, it had belt clip screws and a standard screen protector when I bought a new one.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Almost never

Excellent frequency counter

Works almost as advertised. The frequency appears to be very close (within 200Hz at 146MHz and 447MHz). I am very happy with the meter. Good construction and looks good. However, there is a small downside - the CTS tone frequency at 447MHz is wrong. It displays 88.3 when the actual CTCSS tone is 156.7 Hz. The CTS tone frequency at 147 MHz is displayed correctly.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works as described for CB and radio equipment

Accurate frequency counter in this price range gets 5 stars. It stably fixes the frequency within 0.001MHz and accurately detects sounds. The DMR functionality also works as expected. The user interface and manual aren't the best and they don't keep the latest frequency on the display; and for the price it's great. I've found that other browsers have had trouble stopping the feature and I suspect many simply rebooted and corrupted the device. Don't put the transmitter right next to the counter,

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Some flaws

- I would like a setting that saves the found frequency.

I was skeptical about this product; because I have purchased similar products in the past and they have not worked as advertised. This product works as advertised and I have used it many times with 100% reliability on VHF, UHF, 700MHz, 800MHz and 900MHz. .My reasons for not giving 5 stars are: - No customer service - I asked the seller a question and got no response. - I would like a setting that keeps the found frequency at least on the screen. 3-5 seconds. As soon as I release the PTT buttonโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Not fashionable

Surprisingly good for the price

I was a bit skeptical about buying this unit due to the low price. But it works! The SF-103 is designed for radio amateurs to ensure their radio is properly programmed. With an analogue signal, the transmission frequency is displayed; and when using repeater access tones (CTCSS/PL/DCS) that are broadcast. For digital broadcasts the frequency of the broadcast is shown (although I would like the DMR color code/timeslot to be shown as well - maybe in a future update). The wide 2MHz to 2.8GHz range

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Minor flaws

Good value for money.

This is a good counter/meter, I use it all the time and it takes a lot of abuse. I just recently read the reviews and was surprised at how many negative comments there were. If he died today, I would most likely buy another one. It doesn't work well on very low powered hardware as shipped, but adjusting the sensitivity or "detection level" in the menu will help a lot (lower # means more sensitive as far as I remember). It seems some users also missed the F2 key that stops the counter (togglesโ€ฆ
