🔒 Reliable Front Right Door Lock Actuator Motor: APDTY 857938 - Enhance Security and Convenience Review

Looks just like the original part (for my 2002 RAV4) and works great! Can't beat the price. It was a complex repair, but I found a YouTube video showing the process and it took me an hour or two to complete. Saved hundreds to pay a repair shop to do it.

After TWO defective units I went elsewhere. What a PITA to take your door apart twice to find out the replacement is defective. The drive lever doesn't seem to be connected to anything inside. Although the position switch works and the motor rotates, the arm does not move. What a shit.

This is the cheapest at Revain but I was impressed by its 12 month warranty which convinced me to buy it. Although it didn't work out, I still believe that if you have the time, you can keep trading until it fits. I didn't have time so I just sent it back and bought the original part because it's not easy to replace.

I bought two of these within a few months as it was a lot cheaper to try and swap them out yourself a few times than to take them to the dealer. Checked and rechecked that everything is connected correctly. The 1st called the "door lock" signal from the passenger door to always try to lock all the doors in the car. The 2nd did nothing once in place. Bought one for the driver's door from another seller and it worked on the first try.

This did not work as expected. If it was installed and the doors were opened, they would automatically lock when the key was returned to its original position (to remove it from the lock). I tried changing the position of the lock/unlock bar/mechanism that attaches to the actuator which made things worse. The pinout inside the case didn't quite match the original part. As a result, I pulled out the motor and put it in my own case. Fastened the body with ties. Now works perfectly!
