Other Bluetooth devices will appear normally. I bought two of these devices and neither of them show up to pair. Tried on two different Macbook Pro 2015. One of them was connected to the iPhone 8, the other was not. I tried connecting both APEKX units to the TaoTronics transmitter but neither worked.

I use this on my bedroom TV for quiet night time viewing. Pairing with my Samsung Smart TV was smooth as silk and I'm not techy at all. Great design. I've used several of these. Others work just as well, but this one has the perfect design, at least for me. I plug in my headphones and put them on my shirt, under my shirt. I remember the functions and locations of the buttons well, and I can easily determine the location of the device by touching it under my shirt.
