High quality at a reasonable price.

I am a retired chemist and I highly recommend this instrument. It is important to have a device that can be calibrated. Be sure to rinse the probe with deionized or distilled water after use and always store in 3M KCl. The calibration instructions aren't clearly written, so I recommend watching a YouTube video that walks you through the process. You can also purchase pH 7 and pH 4 or pH 10 buffers to use for calibration. The number of supplied buffers is not unlimited. You can also make your…

Pros
  • Substance analyzer
Cons
  • Some little things

Application Tips: IMPORTANT: Blow out the bubbles in the sensor! The bubble will mess up your readings and mess up the calibration. Just shake the device like a mercury/alcohol thermometer to remove bubbles. I wonder how many people have blisters messing up their readings. I did and oh my god it made a world of difference! - IMPORTANT: Stir the sensor in the sample to push out any bubbles from the OUTSIDE of the sensor, then leave it for a while to stabilize the temperature reading and…

  • Check, measure and check

  • New Competitors Arrive

I had to return my previous pH meter due to constant fluctuations and lack of calibration. It was a different brand, one of those cheap little yellow pens that everyone says works great, but not for me. Anyway, I went a bit broke and bought this pH pen. It works almost straight out of the box, just follow the instructions and calibrate the element and it works perfectly when you fill the cap with a small amount of electrode storage solution (or 4.0ph calibration solution in a pinch). It uses 4…

Pros Beautiful packaging. Came in a hard case with .

I'm new to hydroponics and came across this while looking for something reliable. It's expensive, but I've learned from experience to buy cheaper tools and tools. Pros: Amazing packaging. Arrived in a hard case, everything is neatly inserted and securely fastened. Batteries were included, not a big issue but I thought it was a nice touch. Lab experience and I still found it a bit finicky about sizing; I should by no means be considered a professional in any type of laboratory or industrial…

A good gauge if you understand the calibration procedure

It took a little practice and experimentation to learn how to calibrate this measuring pin. A long press on the CAL button puts the instrument into calibration mode and a short press on the MEAS button aborts the calibration process. The instructions combine these two steps into the same step, which confuses me. To calibrate, press and hold the CAL button, then place the probe in the 7.00 buffer until the smiley appears on the display. Take your time, let the device stabilize and then press the
