"You give (Apevia) a bad name. "

So you've read all the reviews about this destroying everything on your computer and setting your house on fire. Sure it's happened to some, but I think any of us buying this are nervous enough (based on these reviews) that we'd come here in a heartbeat to confirm any concerns if I do. I don't think we would do that for a trusted brand. But if it works, we probably won't post a review. I'm not suggesting that Apevia power supplies are as reliable as popular brands. I'm just saying I think we…

I'm glad I bought

Reading the reviews I almost bought this power supply, many of the reviews mentioned noise. What I didn't want was noise. But other reviews spoke about the quality. Everything is discouraging but the only thing that was mentioned was the good customer service. However, I didn't want any issues or noise after reading reviews on many other PSU brands. I came back to it to take a risk. Expecting noise, surprised and happy with minimal noise. Quality, hard to tell, I shook it a bit to make sure…

THIS WILL KILL YOUR HARDWARE! DO NOT BUY THIS!

I bought this to build a mini-ITX with a Ryzen system. It killed the motherboard on first boot and the PSU itself started smoking. It's bad that the power supply itself is defective, but that it kills other components takes the lameness of this product to a whole new level. If you buy this, just be prepared for the very likely possibility that your other hardware could be damaged. I just really hope this review can help prevent the same thing from happening to someone else.

RMA received a GREAT product

Update 11/19/2017: (5 stars) than what I originally purchased. I contacted Apevia support on the 9th after leaving a comment here and received a quick response from Serena suggesting submitting the product for an RMA. I visited the US Post Office on the 11th (on Veteran's Day, of course, since I know my luck) and sent it via Priority Mail for $7. They received it on the 15th (obtained via USPS tracking info) and the same day I received an email from Serena that a replacement had been shipped. I

Pros
  • months after original purchase Easy to use

UPDATE: My mITX board is also burned out. I contacted Apevia and they offered to send me a replacement PSU without even asking any questions, so it seems the norm for RMAs to ask no questions. Too bad they don't send me a new mobo too. DO NOT BUY Update 2: My Windows OEM license is tied to this dead motherboard, so an additional $90 is needed. To hell with you, Apevia! Creation of a low-power ITX machine for a CNC control project. Runs J5005 without GPU and other peripherals. Should be very…
