API FILTRATION Aquarium Canister Filtration Fish & Aquatic Pets Review

We have a 55 gallon aquarium with a Rena XP2 filter block. From bottom to top we use 2-20, then 2-30, in the next basket activated carbon, then biochemical stars with two microfiltration pads to complete it. Works very well. We change filters every 2-3 months and have never had any problems although we tend to overfeed :-(

I find that having more pores per inch clogs too quickly and does not provide adequate filtration. This sponge does its job perfectly and does not need to be replaced. Beneficial bacteria grow in the filter, which makes the aquarium water crystal clear. Check my feed to see results.[.]

I actually used this foam for another application. My old Big Green carpet washer needed a new foam insert in the vacuum intake manifold. The manufacturer no longer makes parts for my car so I bought this styrofoam, cut out a round piece and chi-chi - I was back in business. This foam was identical in density to the original.
