It is the same as the original plastic version but made of metal. It fits perfectly on my 2002 Ford F-150. This version should hold up differently than the original.

Much better than the cheap plastic that broke on my 98 F150. Definitely worth the $1 extra, especially considering the time it takes to exchange. I doubt I'll ever have to replace this one.

I'm glad they made a replacement metal fitting. The original plastic fitting broke when the shift cable caught. This metal fitting should be used when assembling the truck, not a plastic one!

I installed this to replace a broken plastic bracket on a 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty Lariat. It fitted perfectly, was easy to install and is a MUCH stronger yet cost effective alternative to the factory plastic part.

I don't write many reviews but this piece of iron is great. It fits my '97 Ranger perfectly. Whoever came up with this plastic replacement alternative is awesome. If you're having trouble with the shift indicator telling you what gear you're in, then this is the part you need.

So many of these trucks have a shift indicator to show a different gear. It's so easy to replace and repair the display values. Your brain just feels better when you watch it on the show you're actually on! Don't waste your time with the plastic version. Fix it once and forget it. The plastic breaks again. It costs $10.
