After using the initial materials that came with the Cascade 1000 filter, the water in the turtle tank was clear but very smelly. I replaced the last set of original filters with these and replaced the Cascade charcoal filter bags with a zeolite bag and a charcoal bag. The results were very good. The water stays crystal clear and the smell is gone. Cleaning up after a week of use was an easy task as the foam inserts catch most of the waste and are easy to clean.

Used for my Penn Plax Cascade 1000 turtle tank. Pros - You get lots of filters, good choice of regular floss and sponges, good price. Cons - Arrived unwrapped in a loose black plastic bag with packing tape (anything weird?), Sizing differences - some filters are thinner than others and look smaller. When the filters don't completely cover the baskets, I simply cut off another to fill in the gaps and don't feel guilty if I 'lose' one as there are so many in the pack.

I bought this pack for the green and blue pads and wanted to see if the white pads were any better quality than the ones I was using. (Cascade). I'm getting small white "floats" in my tank and I think it's the white pads. I'm not 100% sure about that, but I'm looking for the reason.
