Suitable for small/medical aquariums with no snails or live plants

Long version: I used this in my 29 gallon aquarium. I only got it to create some flow for my Corey to play with. He was actually too strong for that, so I left him at half speed. However, worm snails and live plant debris were CONSTANTLY getting into the lower vent. The vent had VERY strong suction. I actually lost a few mystery snails because of this :( and had to constantly reach out to clear the vent of debris. So it rarely really pumped water. I'm kind of "set and forget" " when it comes to

Pros
  • Note: Must be fully submerged
Cons
  • Volume

Dared, very impressed with what I got!

I very much doubted that these small pumps could handle a significant amount of water for their size. I opened the package when it arrived and was quite impressed with the build quality. I placed it in my 20 gallon turtle enclosure and plugged it in. At first I thought it was very weak and thought I got what I paid for. I took it out of the water again, turned the dial to the fully open position and put it back in the tank without expecting much of a difference. I was very surprised how muchโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Adjustable flow rate: Maximum flow rate up to 600 L/h (160 GPH) with rotary knob; Recommended maximum lifting height: 1.5 feet.
Cons
  • Not sure

Honest Review - Water Pumps

I bought 2 packs of the 90 GPH version. For the price - you really can't complain. These things are weak - I have another brand of 80gph and it is noticeably stronger. It's easy to spot because it shoots through 1/2 PVC and 4 hydroponic spray nozzles. It's cheaply made. There is a plug on one end that does not sit flush. if you press the protruding end, the opposite end jumps up โ€“ it reminds me of a chair with a short leg. the pressure regulator dial is also marked backwards. Increase decreases

Pros
  • Optional 2 outlets: For 5/16" or 1/2" ID hoses
Cons
  • Reliability
