This is my SECOND pump. (20 gallon tank) those pumps are garbage! They stop absorbing water. The LED indicator never stops blinking. I literally have to hit it to get the pump working! I've only had this a couple of months and it died today (return window closed May 31st), I think I'll be buying another brand now. Waste of time and money!

My previous aqueon filter lasted me 3 years and I got this set of filters as a replacement and I thought it would last as long as my old one. But this thing literally died before I got back. So I was upset but a little bit glad it broke before my period? Returned. Also, it's no quieter than my old one. expires

Out of the box and straight away it was probably the noisiest filter I've ever bought which is odd considering the pump is under water stands. However, this is exactly the case. It's too distracting to keep anywhere but a noisy room. Two stars because the filtering is good and cheap, although admittedly not worth the money.

This pump is VERY noisy. There is NOTHING quiet about it. Our aquarium is in the living room and we can't even watch a movie without this thing giving us a headache. I'll be back three days later. I have another Aqueon pump for another aquarium, it's completely silent so I was expecting a lot more. Don't buy this pump if the 24 hour, 7 day, 7 day buzzing noise is bothering your family.

The only reason for only 4 stars for cleaning is that I make my own filters rather than buying pre-made ones. This saves a lot of money, but changing the filter takes 5-10 minutes instead of 1 minute. However, a homemade filter contains more activated carbon and filter material and lasts 2-3 times longer than a ready-made filter. So you can pay for pre-made filters to save time, or make your own to save money and not have to change them as often.

This filter looked cool at first glance, but it IS NOT QUIET. Makes a lot of noise, like a lot. Eventually I had to turn it off because I couldn't figure out why it was making that noise. It sounded like a tractor or a trash compactor. Tried changing the battery - to no avail. No instructions on how to put the batteries in so it was pointless. I liked that it came with extra filters but it was worth it, wish we hadn't bought that.

This filter is very loud. It emits a pleasant vibration with a buzzing sound, and when you put the lid on it rattles and buzzes. I am very dissatisfied with this filter. There seems to be a lack of quality control at the production level. Works well to keep the water clean but the constant noise level is ridiculous for such a small device. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking unless you're concerned about the noise level.

The thing is sooooo loud. A few years ago I had almost the same Aqueon filter (no LED) and it was very quiet. The product has now apparently been improved to the point that it is practically unusable. Thank you guys UPDATE: I ran this filter continuously for 48 hours and it gradually settled down to the point where it is now as quiet as the filter I replaced and basically works great. I'm not sure if this is a fix for all QuietFlow 10 noise issues reported, but try running it for a few days…
