Haven't seen others use this on the Threadripper but it works great. I used a "heavy blob" in the middle of the "Z" using the IHS method as described by GamersNexus. I already had an Asetek-based AIO cooler and it turned out to be a very effective method of application. I've used AS5 before, but they work great too! Highly recommended!

I started using this stuff about a year ago and have seen an improvement of at least 1-2°C over other standard paste solutions. The thickness I feel is just right, not too thick that it barely walks or runs, and not too thin that it just spills all over the place. I've used the MX-4 in laptops, SoC/ARM, desktops - it does its job perfectly. This is my second whistle. I will buy again.

Arctic MX-4 is still a top notch thermal compound and will likely remain so for many years to come. I've been using MX-4 for a long time and it doesn't "burn out" like many cheaper thermal compounds.
