Quality Arctix as always on top!

We got this for our son this winter and it worked great. First of all, we are fans of this brand because they always produce high quality products at an affordable price. This jacket is very well made, it is very thick and will certainly withstand much colder temperatures than we have. The size is right too. We'll definitely be picking one of these up if he grows out of it.

Pros
  • Made exclusively for children to ensure they fit well and are comfortable.
Cons
  • The jacket is not windproof, which means that children will feel the cold wind.

Medium = size 10-12

I didn't see a size chart on this list so I ordered a normal size for my son which is medium. The average standard size for big kids is 8-10, at least in my experience, so I was a bit surprised to get this medium coat in size 10-12. So it's a bit big for my 8 year old size 8. But it's not HUGE on him which tells me this coat might be a bit small. Luckily, his current size is still wearable and he'll likely be able to wear it for a few more years. That's great. This is a high quality coat! It's…

Pros
  • Available in medium size which fits most kids 8-10 years old.
Cons
  • Color fades after multiple washes

This coat is nice enough and warm enough for winter in the south where it doesn't often get below freezing. It has moderate water resistance. However, this coat is by no means suitable for the arctic winter. Not nearly. Try wearing this in the Midwest or colder winters and your kid will freeze to death. But it is good enough for our climate and the price is right. It is well done and should be passed on to the next child if necessary. I recommend it, just not for all sub-zero weather.

Pros
  • Suitable for various winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding and building snowmen.
Cons
  • There is no provision for adding layers under the jacket.

Good jacket for the north east

This is a good winter jacket for the north east. It wasn't cold yet, but it was pretty hot to wear inside! The jacket is lined, has a hood, two inside and four outside pockets. The hood is roomy enough to slip a hoodie underneath like kids do these days. Sewing is good, nothing proliferates. I have had two Arctix jackets and both were good.

Pros
  • It suits my son, he loves it...I don't know how it will be in cold weather but we'll see
Cons
  • Thin insulation that does not warm the child in cold weather.

Tres belle qualité de tissue

We have this jacket (boy, 8 years old) and we've had it less than two weeks and already one of the front pocket buttons fell off and the back hem came loose. We will replace it with the same jacket and just see if the jacket we received is defective. If the next one lasts longer than a few weeks I may update this review with new information.

Pros
  • Very happy with this coat! Much heavier than I expected!
Cons
  • The jacket lacks waterproof properties.

Extremely hard mode

The jacket is of very good quality. Amazing price. Runs a little smaller than the stated size, so I'm glad I ordered a larger size. My son is very happy.

Pros
  • Provides warmth in sub-zero temperatures.
Cons
  • The price is too high for the quality of the product

Heavy coat without being heavy. Very well done.

Nice coat. Very well done. Lots of pockets and a hood. Keeps my grandson very warm. Wards off the weather. Fits very well, long enough to cover his back. Nice black and white camouflage. A warm, heavy coat, but not bulky or heavy to wear. Simply.

Pros
  • The smooth-running YKK zipper won't get caught.
Cons
  • The pockets don't close so things fall out easily.

Extremely hard mode

I actually sent it back - very heavy and tough. I can't imagine kids wearing this and playing with it in the snow. Maybe good for snowmobiling?

Pros
  • The hood is opened when the child does not want it.
Cons
  • The jacket is not strong enough to withstand regular wear and tear.

Impressed....!! in my opinion

Pretty thick coat. My 9 year old son loves it and will be able to wear it next year too. Great value for this coat and keeps it warm. This mother is happy.

Pros
  • The non-bulky design allows for greater freedom of movement and makes it easy to move around in the great outdoors.
Cons
  • The length of the jacket is too short, exposing the lower back.

Definitely cold weather gear!

Sturdy, durable construction with reinforced areas, zip pockets. Will definitely withstand ice, snow and inclement weather.

Pros
  • Reversible design offers two looks in one jacket.
Cons
  • The pockets are not deep enough, which limits the number of items you can carry.

Doesn't last, broke after 3 months.

Looks great at first but after a month the stitching started to rip all over - my child was shocked as he loved the look of this coat.

Pros
  • Fleece-lined collar and chin guard prevent chafing and uncomfortable chafing.
Cons
  • The jacket has no reflective material, which threatens the child's safety in the dark.

Doesn't last, broke after 3 months.

We live in an area with milder winters and it was only worn for 3 months before it ripped down the back exposing the insulation. Did the job as we get single digit and regularly negative interest rates but just didn't hold up for the cost like it should.

Pros
  • The jacket has a stylish and modern design that kids will love.
Cons
  • The jacket is not versatile enough for both outdoor activities and indoor activities.

The buttons broke after a few hours of wear.

Seems to be a great jacket. Waterproof, warm, good for snowboarding etc. but my kid wore them for a snowboarding session and three buttons broke the same day. Was a little cleaner than expected. I deviated from the size chart but I think I could increase the size.

Pros
  • I bought it for my niece and it's so warm and comfortable. Ideal for winter and outdoor play
Cons
  • Too tight fit that restricts movement

Good quality in my opinion

We really like the quality of this snow jacket. The material and stitching are good, very warm. It's a bit big, but I think that's intentional. I would still prefer true size as I can plan for that. Good product and my son will grow up in it for the next few months.

Pros
  • Very reasonable price
Cons
  • The jacket is not waterproof, so clothing will get wet in wet weather.

Camouflage warmth and child approved

Excellent workmanship. Heat to 20F. But what our recipient really liked was the camouflage design, which he described as cool at first glance. It seems strong enough to last 2 or 3 winters.

Pros
  • Lightweight material does not burden the child and provides freedom of movement and comfort.
Cons
  • The jacket does not provide sufficient thermal insulation for winter sports.

Robust winter jacket for boys

Simple modern design and color. Well done. Warm, thick, durable, water-repellent jacket. Quilted inner lining. Lots of big pockets. Zip and button closure at front. Smooth Lightning. A quality jacket that looks like it will last. Sturdy jacket, I recommend!

Pros
  • Warm but now well mounted.
Cons
  • The hood is too small and doesn't offer enough protection

DO NOT BUY - my review

Flash doesn't work. The top button is where the zipper opens, so you can even pull it all the way through. Bad design quality. The actual jacket is nice and heavy.

Pros
  • My son is very picky and it was a win for us! It keeps him warm in our Minnesota cold. This is the only brand for us!
Cons
  • Warm. Not as soft as other coats and a bit stiff. But it appears to be waterproof.

Read before you buy!

Loved the coat but the zipper broke when it arrived. Too bad we didn't read the other reviews as this seems to be a common problem. My son is 9 years old. We have 14 and it fits perfectly, so order one size up if you're a person who can fix the zipper yourself.

Pros
  • Durable seams ensure that the jacket will survive many winters.
Cons
  • The jacket is too heavy for children, uncomfortable to wear.

Bought twice, both jackets defective

We bought the camo jacket and within the first month the back stitching ripped/frayed and we were fortunate to be able to return it. We bought a second one hoping it was just a defect of the first but the same thing happened but along the seam in a zipper. (Abrasion started within the first 2 weeks of wear.) The jacket was intended for my 10 year old boy who had to constantly deal with the zipper when it got more worn and an adult couldn't help him fix it ( School) . The last time the zipper…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Only available in white

Extremely warm coat, as strong as my little boy

This is a durable coat. You wouldn't even think of wearing this in the off-season. This is probably one of the thickest coats I've ever bought for my son. I prefer him to wear this coat for outdoor activities like biking and skateboarding. The extra thickness gives me confidence that it won't peel off if dropped. Even the hood is thicker than you would expect. It also has a reflective strip that makes it more visible at dusk. The outer layer of the coat is very similar to the material from…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky
