Doesn't keep warm as long as advertised. It's a very complex part and the wild cat we care for doesn't like it and pushes it out of the box.

I use this for me not my pet lol. He won't go with him. But it keeps me warm. The only complaint is that the variety that was around 5 or 6 years ago (pink discs) stays hotter longer, even after repeated use over so many years.

First of all this is a great product but I made a mistake with mine which caused a fire and wanted to make sure no one else had this problem. I've used the disc for years to keep me warm on cold nights and it's done a great job. The problem was not with the product but with how I used it. I wrapped it in a pillow case for protection and tied the end of the case in a knot. I put the disc and box in the microwave. Something in the knot and fibers of the pillowcase started the fire. This microwave heating pad is definitely different from the other brands I usually use. shed heat for any period of time compared to another brand. That means I either have to reheat it often or cover it well and open it when it's cool to keep the pets warm. Not very practical in many situations. I use this on sick and injured wildlife. I am a Wildlife Rehabilitator with a State MS License. We use our own money and rely on donations and I love them for their softness and warmth. When little squirrels, rabbits, birds, baby raccoons come, they love to lie down on a soft, warm bed. I bought 3 but want to buy 3 more, they are just great. Bought this heating pad for a stray kitten we let live on our patio! She has her own little covered house with the blankets we were given, but it's still quite cold at night and we knew a heating pad would keep her comfortable on those cold nights. Your house is warmer inside than outside, but a heating pad will make it better!
