I've used these types of hangers for years and love them - the disc helps level the hangar and provides a solid base for it, but on the ones I've used before the disc has always been welded to the shaft. The discs on it float freely in a small area, which negates all the advantages of the original design - I'm throwing them away.

They come in a variety of sizes and I have used them to hang heavier pictures securely. Just make sure you use the right size for the weight you are carrying. I've never had a single break from the wall.

I have never received anything so bad from Revane. They should be the same as the Ook picture hangers, just pennies cheaper. I don't use them to hang anything heavy so I figured they would be fine even if they weren't that strong. In fact, they're probably as strong as Ook followers, but they're weird.
