I haven't had the same problems as the others. I know how to use a fountain pen and therefore a calligraphy pen, so the instructions weren't a problem for me (even if you don't, you can easily look them up online and you'll find great instructions). The ink applied fairly well, although initially it took more persuasion than I'm used to, and the nibs are suitable for beginners. I especially like the fact that they give three nibs so a calligraphy beginner can experience different sizes.

I like the set so far. A good basic set for beginners at a good price. However, I don't know how I would feel if I were right-handed. I've learned to write with my right hand because nibs are often angled for right-handers, but these nibs look like they were cut straight and I can't get the ink to flow evenly unless I'm using my dominant left hand Hand. Maybe I missed something in the description that it's left-handed, or maybe I'm doing it wrong with my right hand. Anyway, it was nice to…
