This oil smells great and looks great. A few notes: 1. Be frugal. For most men, a coin-sized doll held in a cupped hand should suffice. It should be enough to cover the sideburns but not enough to make the face look shiny. If you don't use any oil at all you run the risk of getting irritated while shaving, if you use too much your razor will glide over at least part of your mustache without friction and not cut it. 2. After shaving, an oily layer remains on the razor. You will probably want to…

Fur. Too thick, smells like javanol, not sandalwood.

First of all you should know that this does NOT smell like sandalwood. This is the smell of a compound found in sandalwood but in a synthetic version (javanol). So it has a bit of sandalwood in it, albeit not very convincingly. Right on the border between woody and clean and musty and unpleasant. For 1€ I expect a little more. In terms of viscosity, it is a BAKED material. I mean it looks like it's mostly castor oil. The problem is that if you put too much product on your face it will…

Mismatched Labels - Aftershave

I have used this product for many years but I always buy it from my local store. When I received the product, the first thing I noticed was that the label was different. Many of the words on the label were in Spanish and the label had a striped design and the label belonged as if it was from another country or brand. Otherwise the product was exactly the same and worked as advertised. I just wish the real product was in the description and pictures instead of mistakenly posting the original…

Just enough, no more than

This product, like most preshave products, helps. I gave it a try as it was cheaper than what I call historic established British products but note this material says it was made in the UK by Proctor and Gamble. Compared to more expensive oils, it's a bit sticky, needs more frequent rinsing and post-shave cleaning, and doesn't smear well. I won't throw away, but I will return to more expensive things. It's good value for money and does a reasonable job, but not the best out there. Give it a…

This article is worth its weight in gold!

I have been wet shaving for many years, but due to irritation on my neck and chin I was never able to get a very close shave. I tried shaving soaps, creams and so on, but I couldn't get rid of calluses and ingrown hairs when I shaved my chin and neck. I have always been interested in The Art of Shaving products and finally decided to buy some Sandlewood cream and shaving oil. When you receive the bottle, you might find it a bit small, but don't worry, it helps a little. I put a dime-sized drop…
