ASICS GT-1000 7 Men's Running Shoes Review

This product was quite satisfactory, the sole did not feel as stiff as the other GT1000 models, all of which continued the '-7' model. I run hundreds of miles and have relied on the Asics GT500, GT1000 and GT2000 models for some time. The outsole stiffness issue has been addressed with the addition of Superfeet insoles and these shoes now work very well. Since I always use these inserts, I would buy this model again.

PROS: Light weight - Feel - Cool colors - Good price CONS: Narrow toe box - Stiff sole - No arch support - No cushioning - Outdated materials VERDICT: I'm currently switching between them and Hoka Arahi 3. I wear Asics mostly in the gym and for short runs of 30 minutes to 1 hour with a quick finish. Light and responsive, picks up speed pretty quickly. When I was young and skinny I wore tight men's shoes and sneakers for about 15 years. I've been wearing standard size 11 men's shoes and sneakers for 20 years. I can honestly say that the toe of these shoes is way too narrow. It pinches and it feels like I put my normally wide feet in tight shoes. In previous shoes from Asics, Saucony, others and most recently New Balance I had normal wide-toed shoes. I just think Asics narrowed the toe box a bit too much this time. I've been buying Asics for years. I like the landing very much. I immediately notice a difference in comfort when I put on a new pair of shoes. I ordered the size I always buy/wear in ASICS running shoes (gel foundation). I ordered this model only for everyday wear (GT-1000 7), and it was noticeably different in size. Update Day 1: I wore it throughout my 8 hour shift. I can't say there was no pain at all, but during the day it was noticeably dulled. And going there was actually zero pain. ZERO! Over the last 15 years I have run in a variety of shoes including Asics. I am happy to report that her size has fully stabilized during this time. (New balance, please note.)
